NBC DONATES 34M TSHS TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF TUMAINI UNIVERSITY DAR ES SALAAM COLLEGE
The National Bank of Commerce (NBC) has donated TSZ 34 000,000 towards the construction of Tumanini University DSM College. The donation under NBC’s Colleagues Initiative which is the bank’s ongoing CSR program was pledged by the bank’s new MD Mr. Lawrence Mafuru during a fundraising dinner that was held at the Blue Pearl Hotel on Tuesday.
While handing over the cheque to Rt. Rev. Alex G. Malasusa today, NBC’s MD Mr. Lawrence Mafuru said NBC is extremely proud to be associated with the efforts being shown by the Reverend and his team to improve the quality of education in Tanzania by providing more infrastructures.
"It is an inspiration to see people taking extraordinary measures for the greater good of a nation and NBC can't help but aspire to be part of the numerous efforts to improve our country. Imagine what we could do if we all made the extra effort to improve any of the things we complain about daily be it a poor transportation system, a sub standard health care system or even the education system. We would all be in a much better place today if we worked together as the Reverend has shown. Let me say thank you to Reverend Malasusa for that invitation card to the dinner that allowed NBC to be part of the great work that is being done to build more facilities for Tumaini University DSM College."
Receiving the cheque at his offices at the Luther House, Rt. Rev. Alex G. Malasusa thanked NBC saying the bank’s continuous support is greatly appreciated. "I would like to thank NBC for their ever failing support for especially towards education in Tanzania. Their continued support has helped to improve the lives of many out there and today they are once again helping to educate our country's future leaders. Tumaini University is enrolling more and more students by the semester and so we need to build better facilities to ensure that we can accommodate them all comfortably and teach them as effectively as possible as our future does indeed depend on them. Again I say thank you to Mr. Mafuru who has taken time out of his busy schedule to join hands with us for a very worthy cause”.
