
NBC DONATES SEWING MACHINES TO MENTALLY HANDICAPPED CHILDREN
National Bank of Commerce (NBC) has made a donation of 6 sewing machines worth 1.2 million shillings to the Department of Special Education at Mbagala Primary School in Dar es Salaam as part its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. Speaking on behalf of NBC during the handing over ceremony, NBC’s Communication Consultant Robi Matiko said “We are committed to help improve education standards in Tanzania and helping handicapped children is part of our responsibility. I believe these sewing machines will a go along way in helping them with their studies like normal children”. Accepting the donation on behalf of the school and the children, the schools the headmaster Petros Mkumbo thanked NBC for their contribution in helping the mentally handicapped children in his school because they lacked enough such equipment to help them learn skills that will help them in future “We are so much indebted to NBC for helping our handicapped children and what they have done today should serve as an example to others in society to also remember these children and not ignore them” said Mr. Mkumbo.
