NBC HOLDS WELLNESS DAY IN IRINGA
National Bank of Commerce (NBC) has rolled out a new campaign for its employee’s and their families countrywide dubbed ‘The NBC Wellness Programme’ aimed at helping them take care of their health so that they can be more productive. The wellness Programme was initially launched at NBC headquarters in Dar es Salaam on September 2008. The programme aims to address various Psychological, Spiritual, Physical, Social and Medical difficulties experienced by employees, find strategies to assist them to overcome these issues using the three integrated core issues; Employee Assistance Program, HIV& AIDS and Core Health Management Program. The first NBC Wellness Day this year held at St.Dominic Savio School-Conference Hall-Iringa was attended by NBC staff from the Highland Zone together with their families and the event was graced by various health organizations that came to sensitize NBC staff on their well being. The slogan for the day was ‘’LIVE WELL, WORK WELL’’. During the launching ceremony, the NBC Area Manager-Highlands Godhard Hunja addressed the staff members and urged them to fully participate in the exercise and have their health checked reminding them that they are the first region to experience the program this year. “Apart from this exercise being an awareness campaign among NBC staff here in the Highland zone, it will also serve as an awareness campaign for other regions, and we should take pride in being chosen as the first group to benefit through this worthy program” asserted Mr. Hunja. The NBC Wellness program intends to ensure that all NBC employees are physically, mentally and spiritually sound at the work place, therefore, this first campaign aims to create awareness and inform staff members of the program’s existence and how it may be of service to them and their families. Addressing staff members at the launch, the Wellness Officer Consolata Henjewele, maintained that the NBC Wellness Programme Rollup plan is entirely for all staff members and their families country wide. “My advice to you fellow colleagues is that you should live well by watching your health through diet and physical activities, and to seek support when needed to have a clear state of mind for you to work efficiently, and balance your life. Not forgetting your families who also need to be in good health conditions and that acts as a morale boost for any employee” added Mrs. Henjewele.

NBC DONATES NEW MOBILE CLINIC
28 Sep 2011: At least 225,212 people, mostly women and children in the outskirts of Dar es Salaam, have received medical care through mobile clinics, deployed by the National Bank of Commerce (NBC) since 2002.
The Bank's Managing Director, Lawrence Mafuru said in Dar es Salaam yesterday that the clinics were also useful during the Medical Association of Tanzania Health Camp in the Lake Zone Area; the 2003 Africa Malaria Day' the 2007 Mass Drug Administration against Filarlasis (Matende) and also during the Gongo la Mboto bomb blasts when the Clinics were on site providing medical care.
NBC launches Corporate & Business Islamic Current Accounts
09 Aug 2011: The National Bank of Commerce (NBC) has introduced Corporate and Business Islamic Current Accounts for businesses that would like to operate under Islamic rules.The move follows the Islamic banking savings account for individuals, which has been successful since it was launched in May last year.
