Mbagala Branch Official Opening

The National Bank of Commerce has recently opened the first Express Pre – Fabricated Branch in Tanzania, in Mbagala ward Dar es Salaam. Mbagala ward is a highly populated area, which now enjoys having an NBC branch in the area. Located in Temeke district of Dar es salaam, Mbagala ward is rapidly growing as more and more residents and business people move into the area. NBC, true to its vision of bringing convenience to their customers, used the opportunity to open a fully fledged Express Pre –Fabricated Branch to cater for the financial requirements of the people in the area.

The Express Pre-fabricated branch is a new concept which NBC is introducing in Tanzania. The Express Pre-fabricated branches are unique as they are not dependant on any infrastructure. They only take few weeks to build, and can be erected almost anywhere. It comes fully equipped with all the traditional banking necessities, including VISA enabled ATM machines. NBC intends to introduce this new banking concept as an integral part of and in support of the expansion of their delivery footprint.

NBC Mbagala Branch is strategically located along Kilwa Road in a commercially busy and highly populated area. “NBC is a bank that looks at the present and future needs of its customers. The people of Mbagala ward and beyond, for a long time have had to go long distances into the City of Dar es Salaam to get banking services. The new branch will not only save our customers much valued time but will also reduce the inherent risk that the carrying of cash holds.”, said the NBC Managing Director Christo De Vries.

“We believe our presence in Mbagala ward has brought much deserved relief to the residents and businesses in the area” He further lamented.

The NBC Mbagala Branch serves residents and the business communities of Kongowe, Mtoni Kijichi, Mbagala Rangi Tatu, Zakhem, Mtoni Mtongani, Mbagala Kuu, Saba Saba grounds, Kurasini, Mbagala Kizuiani and Mtoni Kwa Aziz Ali.

NBC Mbagala branch is NBC’s 13th branch in Dar es Salaam and 38th in the country.

NBC DONATES NEW MOBILE CLINIC

28 Sep 2011: At least 225,212 people, mostly women and children in the outskirts of Dar es Salaam, have received medical care through mobile clinics, deployed by the National Bank of Commerce (NBC) since 2002. The Bank's Managing Director, Lawrence Mafuru said in Dar es Salaam yesterday that the clinics were also useful during the Medical Association of Tanzania Health Camp in the Lake Zone Area; the 2003 Africa Malaria Day' the 2007 Mass Drug Administration against Filarlasis (Matende) and also during the Gongo la Mboto bomb blasts when the Clinics were on site providing medical care.

NBC launches Corporate & Business Islamic Current Accounts

09 Aug 2011: The National Bank of Commerce (NBC) has introduced Corporate and Business Islamic Current Accounts for businesses that would like to operate under Islamic rules.The move follows the Islamic banking savings account for individuals, which has been successful since it was launched in May last year.
