NBC launches Mastercard offering

In a move aimed at providing more convenient services to its clients, NBC Limited, has launched a MasterCard that will enable customers to access financial services globally.

The Head of Marketing, Communications and Corporate Affairs, Ms Mwinda Kiula-Mfugale said in a statement that: "NBC customers will now have something to smile about as they will not be required to carry a bundle of bank cards or bulk of cash when traveling abroad.

''With MasterCard, you are assured of withdrawals, POS purchases and easy payment of goods and services around the world.

''NBC has conducted a thorough research to ensure that we come up with a very convenient product that would enable our clients to easily access financial services at both local and international levels.''

Ms Mfugale also added that clients who still hold previous NBC cards will now be supplied with the New MasterCard versions in a relatively short period and new bank customers will have to follow the normal procedures to get the new MasterCard.

''Having a card is just one thing but the most important item to consider is provision of quality services. We at NBC feel proud when our customers are satisfied with what we offer,'' Ms Mfugale added.

NBC recently launched two products under Islamic Banking, namely the Corporate and Business Accounts.

NBC was established in April 2000 after its privatization and divesting its 55 per cent shares to the South African based ABSA Group.

The government still owns 30 per cent of shares. Other shareholders include international financial institutions. The bank has 53 branches and 250 ATMs countrywide.
