NBC donates computer to UDSM
- NBC donates 25 computers to UDSM
- NBC to make various donations in the next 5 months
- NBC to focus on education
Dar es Salaam, Thursday 19 June 2008: The IT department for NBC has donated 25 computers to the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), Engineering faculty.
This is part of an ongoing program initiated during NBC’s 40th anniversary - 2007 -engaging NBC staff to actively participate in projects aimed at uplifting the community in their environs. This event commences a 5 month initiative that will see NBC staff involved in a variety of projects worth Tsh 120,000,000 to different educational institutions/programs countrywide.
Speaking at the press conference, William Kallage, NBC, Marketing Manager comments, “Computing is an important part of everyday life in the twenty-first century. From music and photos to banking and communicating, computers have changed the way we work and live. This donation by NBC contributes towards the learning process and aids the students by providing them with more facilities.”
Through this program NBC staff, have afforded hundreds of children, youth, adults, elderly, orphans, disabled, and many more, various advantages by donating a variety of items and personally delivering them to the selected group. As NBC is in the service industry this has given the NBC employees an opportunity to show their human side.
“We are excited to receive this contribution from NBC. This will give the students in the Engineering faculty a better learning opportunity as there are more machines to use. We appreciate this kind of support and it clearly shows NBC is concerned about the future of this country.” Commented XXX the head of faculty of Engineering at UDSM
NBC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program focuses on education in support of the Governments effort to elevate the standard of education in the country, with the aim of poverty reduction.

NBC DONATES NEW MOBILE CLINIC
28 Sep 2011: At least 225,212 people, mostly women and children in the outskirts of Dar es Salaam, have received medical care through mobile clinics, deployed by the National Bank of Commerce (NBC) since 2002.
The Bank's Managing Director, Lawrence Mafuru said in Dar es Salaam yesterday that the clinics were also useful during the Medical Association of Tanzania Health Camp in the Lake Zone Area; the 2003 Africa Malaria Day' the 2007 Mass Drug Administration against Filarlasis (Matende) and also during the Gongo la Mboto bomb blasts when the Clinics were on site providing medical care.
