NBC ATM CARD HOLDERS
TOPS 200,000
15, May 2006
NBC has
reconfirmed its position as one of the leading banks in
Tanzania by announcing that its ATM Cardholder’s base has
topped the 200,000 mark. This achievement is another
milestone in the illustrious history of the bank that has
its roots solidly in the soil of Tanzania. The usage of
these cards are facilitated by an equally impressive
diversified distribution footprint comprising 35
electronically linked branches countrywide as well as 58
VISA enabled Automated Teller Machines (ATM) nationwide
NBC has been
a market leader and pioneer in many areas including amongst
others the number of branches; the number of ATMs and the
ever-improving level of service it provides. Now NBC is the
first bank in Tanzania to reach such a large number of
people through ATM cards. 200,000 Tanzanians now carry a
part of NBC with them for their comfort, security and
convenience, which is nothing less than commendable.
“All of this
would of course not have been possible or even worthwhile
pursuing if it was done without the loyal support of our
customers. The ever-increasing sophistication levels and
demands of our customers are the driving force behind what
we try to achieve. The installation of the ATM network has
been part of our drive to provide our customers with the
simplest and safest way to secure 24-hour access to their
money. 200,000 people can not be wrong and once again it is
our customers that prove that NBC is conveniently
everywhere,” says Christo de Vries, NBC Managing Director.
“We at NBC
continually strive to make sure that banking with NBC is
truly a rewarding experience and occasions like this are
particularly gratifying for us. The cardholder numbers are a
true testimony of NBC’s excellence in the field of
convenient banking,” said De Vries.
NBC has
installed 10 new stand alone ATMs outside its branch network
in commercially active areas such as Mwenge BP, BP Sinza, BP
Kinondoni, BP Mikocheni, Kobil Buguruni, Kariakoo Market,
GAPCO Magomeni, BP Msamvu, BP Jamhuri Mwanza, and TFA
Shopping Center in Arusha. The installation of these new
ATMs confirms NBC commitment of bringing banking closer to
its customers.
De Vries
concluded by reconfirming that “further development and
expansion of the NBC footprint and product range will be
done not only in terms of addressing existing customer needs
but also in anticipation of latent needs by addressing them
proactively”.
