NBC INTRODUCES VISA POINT OF SALES PRODUCT

NBC has once again demonstrated its leadership in the banking sector by launching the VISA Point of Sale Product. This product allows all VISA cardholders from anywhere in the world to purchase products and services from Merchants offering this product without carrying cash using their VISA card instead. On the other hand, the product also enables the Merchants to improve their cash flow, increase sales and eliminate the security risk relating to carrying large sums of cash.

The VISA Point of Sale product is ideal for all businesses with clients carrying VISA cards from local or foreign banks.  Transactions are authorised and processed on real-time basis reducing the risk of fraudulent transactions.

This is the first time that VISA Point of Sale transactions are processed within the borders of Tanzania, supported by a 24hr call centre also housed within Tanzania.  This is a clear indication from NBC to develop and invest in local skills and infrastructure.

NBC introduced the first two Point of Sale devices at the Coral Ridge Spur Restaurant and Silver Curio Shop Limited at the Sea Cliff Village about a month ago and the product was well accepted.
