Claim

How to claim 

The occurrence of an Insured event gives rise to a Claim. When any event has occurred irrespective of whether it will materialize into a claim or not the customer is required to do the following:

  1. Do everything within his/her mean to minimize the loss. For example in case of fire, to call fire brigade and/ or put off the fire it is burglary to immediately notify the Police.
  2. Notify NBC Insurance Agency through the Insurance hotline number +255 767 211 869 or email insurance@nbctz.com as soon as possible.
  3. Provide particulars of the event and proof of the loss incurred
  4. Complete and submit a Claim form with all the requested supporting documentation

Standard Policy Exclusions

The standard policy exclusions and limitations are listed but are not limited to the below:

  1. If the loss has occurred outside the period of insurance
  2. If the peril causing the loss is not covered
  3. If there has been a breach of policy condition/warranty/terms
  4. If the insured did not have an insurable interest
  5. If the subject matter is not covered in the policy
  6. If the insured has been indemnified from other sources
  7. If the insured delayed to report the claim.
  8. If the claim or circumstances surrounding the claim are found to be fraudulent or questionable.
  9. War risk, terrorism and anarchy (riots/strikes).
  10. Criminal activities
  11. Expenses recoverable under any other insurance
